1.Found a song and concept for my music video. to lily allen, smile - a girl coping with a bad breakup , ripping up valentines cards , stamping on chocolates, sitting alone , shot of her sat w mascara running down her face, end shot of camera slowly moving away from her in front of a bonfire burning his belongings . shows diff stages of breakup . can show her dying hair ,transition shot of her looking in mirror than looking down and then up with new hair.. sat eating ice cream and pizza. friends come round to show different representation . Her ripping up flowers.  2. Began my website. 3. Filmed a lip sync video and edited it. 4. Began a storyboard

  I collaborated with my fellow media student Sinead, and we made a one minute music video to Olivia Rodrigo's Jealousy Jealousy.  We also made a 30 second recreation of Beyonce's music video Countdown. I also made a one minute music video to Duran Duran 'Girls on Film' , where I practiced lip syncing. 

  Establishing shot of gang and their dog, sets the scene that the music video is in a more low income, lower class area. Adds humour as the dog is wearing sunglasses.  Aerial shot of gang , graffiti behind them. Massive attack are a band from Bristol who often focus on poverty and areas affected as well as making political statements about the state of countries welfare and lack of a fair government.  One take, tracking shot. Introduced to female singer and lead in music video. Goes against the norm at the time as it wasn't common to see black females portrayed on screen without being sexualised or victimised.  People in background, father and son. Litter along the streets, shows poverty. Mid shot of singer, oblivious to the people around her. She is consumed by her sadness. or just used to her environment around her, climatized.  

       The establishing shot of the village immediately allows the audience to gather an idea of the focus of the music video, such as it centering around a medieval model village and there being a person in a position of power- aka the mayor. The medieval setting also alludes to how the videos main message is about the sanitisation of the past and people only remembering the good things in our history.  The next shot creates connotations of blood with red paint dripping out of the bucket, which juxtaposes the seemingly innocent task of the villager painting a postbox. This also foreshadows the end of the video where an attempted murder takes place. This is also the same paint used later in the video when painting an x on peoples doors, which links to the alienation of those who go against society such as those with the black plague or immigrants.  The first shot showing the red x being painted on the doors of peoples houses, insinuates the isolation of peo...
